My Virtual Classroom Session 1: An Introduction to Remote/Blended Learning

Technology is the transmission, but the pedagogy is the engine. In this introduction to remote/online learning, the presenter will provide an overview of the delivery of language teaching in remote contexts. The session will discuss and provide examples of sound pedagogical and design approaches that work, including: the importance of knowing your learners and your content, selecting and managing learning tools, designing and delivering engaging content and assessing learning. It will provide an overview of the methods and tools that can be used to foster an engaging online program where all learners have a voice and you can determine and deliver purposeful content based on learner need.
